Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 28, 2026
This explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and what we do with it. We wrote it in plain English on purpose. No fine-print games. If anything here isn't clear, email us at hello@chop-fitness.com and a real person will answer.
This policy covers our website and our members app. "Chop Fitness," "we," "us," and "our" mean Chop Fitness Group, 1710 Kuser Rd, Suite B, Hamilton, NJ 08690.
1. The honest summary
The short version: read this part if you read nothing else.
- We collect what we need to coach you and run the business. Not more.
- We work with sensitive information like injury notes, body measurements, and progress photos. We treat it carefully and we tell you exactly how below.
- We don't sell your data. Ever.
- When you cancel, we keep your history on purpose, frozen and waiting, so it's here when you come back. You can ask us to delete it.
- You have real rights over your data under New Jersey law, and we make them easy to use.
Now the details.
2. What we collect
The short version: account info, training data, payment info, and a little technical stuff.
When you fill out a form on our site. If you book a free assessment, get on the founding list, or send us a message, we collect your name, email, phone (if you give it), and whatever goal or note you choose to share.
When you become a member. We collect the basics to set up your account: name, email, and your plan. In your profile, you can add things like your goal and injury notes so your coach can train you well.
Your training data, once you're working with us. This is the heart of the app, and it's where the sensitive stuff lives:
- Coaching messages and form-check videos you send your coach
- Progress logs like weight and notes
- Progress photos, if you choose to add them
- Body-composition scan results, if you get one
- Streaks, milestones, and session history
Payment information. When you pay by card, your card details go straight to our payment processor, Stripe. We never see or store your full card number. We only see basic records like whether a payment went through.
Technical information. Like most sites, we automatically collect some basic technical data when you visit, such as your device type, browser, and general usage, so the site works and we can fix problems.
3. The sensitive stuff, said plainly
The short version: some of what we hold is personal in a real way. Here's how we handle it.
Injury notes, body measurements, weight logs, body-composition data, and progress photos are personal. We don't take that lightly. So here's our promise on it:
- We collect it only to coach you and track your progress. That's the only reason it exists in our system.
- Your private training data is yours and your coaching team's. Other members never see it.
- Your progress photos are never shared anywhere without you choosing to share them, and even then, not in the Pack feed (more on that in Section 5).
- We never use this information to judge you, sell you out, or pass it to advertisers.
If you'd rather not give us some of this, that's fine. Some of it (like injury notes) just helps us coach you better and keep you safe.
4. Why we collect it and how we use it
The short version: to coach you, run the gym, and stay in touch. That's the list.
We use your information to:
- Set up and run your account and your access to the app
- Let your coach actually coach you
- Track your progress and show it back to you
- Process payments and keep billing records
- Answer your questions and follow up on assessments and inquiries
- Send you emails you asked for, like founding-list updates (you can stop these anytime)
- Keep the site and app working, secure, and improving
- Meet our legal and tax obligations
We don't use your training data to target ads, and we don't build a profile of you to sell.
5. The Pack feed: you choose what's shared
The short version: sharing is off by default. You opt in, not out.
Inside the app there's an optional shared feed called the Pack, where members can see each other's wins. Here's how it works:
- The default is private. We call it Lone Wolf. Nothing about you is shared unless you turn sharing on yourself.
- If you opt in, only your wins and effort show up, things like streaks and milestones. Your coach can react to them.
- Your weight, your injury notes, and your progress photos are never put in the feed. Wins and effort only, not bodies.
- You can opt back out anytime.
You earn your way into the Pack. You're never dropped into it.
6. We don't sell your data
The short version: not for sale, full stop.
We do not sell your personal information, and we don't trade it to advertisers or data brokers. We're a gym, not a data business.
7. Who we share information with
The short version: only the services we need to run, and only what they need.
We share information with a short list of trusted services and people, and only as much as the job requires:
- Stripe, to process payments. They handle your card details under their own privacy practices.
- Supabase, to securely store accounts, content, and app data.
- Our coaching team. Staff coaches see the member training data they need to coach you. Admins, who run the business, can manage accounts, plans, and access. Both are held to keep your information private.
We may also share information if the law requires it, to protect people's safety, or if the business is ever sold or transferred. If that last one ever happens, your information stays protected by a policy at least as careful as this one.
8. The frozen vault: what happens when you cancel
The short version: we keep your history on purpose. You can still ask us to delete it.
When you cancel or your membership is paused, we don't wipe your account. Your coaching thread, progress, photos, and milestones freeze in place, preserved and read-only, so they're all here the moment you come back. Big-box gyms delete your history. We keep it. That's a feature, not an accident.
But it's your data. If you'd rather we delete it instead of freezing it, just ask. Email hello@chop-fitness.com and we'll take care of it, except for the few records we're legally required to keep (like basic payment and tax records).
9. How long we keep things
The short version: as long as you're with us, plus the frozen vault, unless you ask us to delete.
We keep your account and training data while you're a member and, after you cancel, in the frozen vault so you can pick up where you left off. We keep lead and contact form information long enough to follow up and for our records. We keep basic payment records as long as the law requires. You can ask us to delete your data anytime, and we will, apart from anything we're legally required to hold onto.
10. Emails and how to stop them
The short version: we only email you stuff you asked for, and stopping is one click.
If you join the founding list, book an assessment, or sign up, we may email you about it. Every marketing email has an easy unsubscribe, and we honor it. We'll still send you the necessary account stuff, like a password reset or an important notice about your membership, because those keep your account working.
11. Your privacy rights
The short version: New Jersey gives you real rights over your data, and we make them simple to use.
Under New Jersey's data privacy law, you have the right to:
- Know and access the personal information we have about you
- Correct information that's wrong
- Delete your personal information
- Get a copy of your data in a portable form
- Opt out of having your data used for targeted advertising or sold (we don't do either, but the right is yours regardless)
To use any of these, email hello@chop-fitness.com. We'll confirm who you are (so nobody else can pull your data) and take care of it within the time the law allows. Using your rights never costs you anything and never changes how we treat you.
If we ever turn down a request, we'll tell you why, and you can ask us to look again.
12. How we protect your data
The short version: we use solid, modern security, and we keep access tight.
We use trusted, secure services to store your information, and we limit who can see what. Your private training data is visible only to you and your coaching team. No system is perfectly safe, so we can't promise the impossible, but we take protecting your information seriously and we keep access on a need-to-know basis.
13. Kids
The short version: this isn't built for children.
Our site and app are for adults. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If someone under 18 trains with us, a parent or guardian handles the account. If you think a child has given us information, email us and we'll remove it.
14. Changes to this policy
The short version: if we change it, we'll post the new version and date it.
As the business grows, we may update this policy. When we do, we'll change the "last updated" date at the top and post the new version here. If a change is significant, we'll do our best to give you a heads up.
15. Talk to us
The short version: a real person handles privacy questions.
